St. Mary police report 8/14/13

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff’s Office responded to 46 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Heather Everage Banda, 36, 208 South Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, LA was arrested on August 13, 2013 at 9:17 am on warrants for failure to appear on the charges of disturbing the peace and three counts criminal neglect of family. A deputy located Banda at her residence on the warrant. Banda was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

David Paul Hebert, 46, 1915 River Road Lot #26, Berwick, LA was arrested on August 13, 2013 at 12:53 pm for possession of Schedule IV (Soma).

Mandy Lynn Hebert, 34, 1915 River Road Lot #26, Berwick, LA was arrested on August 13, 2013 at 10:36 am for possession of Schedule IV (Clonazepam).

A deputy responded to a vehicle crash involving a Berwick police unit near the intersection of Pacific and Third Streets. During the course of the investigation, the deputy located a Soma pill on David Hebert who was driving a pickup truck that backed into the police unit. Also, a passenger, Mandy Hebert, was found to have Clonazepam pills in her purse. Both were transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

Eric Fontenot, 55, 2411 River Road, Berwick, LA was arrested on August 13, 2013 at 1:37 pm on a warrant for oral sexual battery, sexual battery, and simple battery. Fontenot turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office after learning of the warrant for his arrest. The warrant stems from an investigation into a complaint of molestation that began on June 18, 2013. During the course of the investigation, the detective learned that Fontenot touched a 20 year old female victim without her permission at a residence in Berwick. Fontenot was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bond is set at $205,000.

Whitney Ann Klein, 49, 111 Pecan Lane, Patterson, LA was arrested on August 13, 2013 at 5:42 pm on a warrant for theft and remaining where forbidden. A deputy responding to a complaint of a theft at a residence on Pecan Lane made contact with Klein who was wanted on the warrant. The warrant stems from an investigation into a report of theft from a retail store in Bayou Vista that occurred in July 2013. Klein was observed leaving the store without paying for items. Klein was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bond is set at $1,500.

Lester Thomas, 39, 108 A Hurst Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on August 13, 2013 at 11:04 pm on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. A deputy observed a vehicle swerve over the centerline of Highway 90 in the Franklin area and conducted a traffic stop. While speaking with the driver, identified as Thomas, the deputy learned of the warrant. Thomas was released on a summons to appear in court on November 6, 2013.
